The Little Superstars Concept

Childhood obesity is on the increase. By time children are 6 years of age, one in ten will be obese.

Little Superstars Sports Club classes are designed to introduce children to the world of sports and fitness in a fun and exciting way.

All children learn to do a warm up stretch which prepares them for the class ahead along with silly warm up games that are both educational and build up fitness stamina.

With the activity or theme of the week, children learn various basic movements around this sport. The children learn to develop motor skills, body awareness, balance, movement and ball ability. They learn certain key skills around the various sports.

Sports that are covered include football, basketball, rugby, racquet sports, golf, gymnastics, cricket, obstacle courses and aerobics, amongst others.

The cool down session that follows includes stretches, parachute play, horse riding and bubbles.

The benefits to your children are

  • Improved ball skills using the various sports
  • Repour built up between child and parent/carer
  • Build up children’s team building skills
  • Learning to take their turn
  • Learning to share the equipment when necessary
  • Learning that sports is fun through the various games and skills sessions
  • Build self esteem and confidence
  • Stronger bones and muscles
  • Helps control body fat to prevent obesity
  • Helps reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes

If children who are not naturally sporty learn these when they are young they should grow up to appreciate sport and wish to join in more rather than avoiding. The overall aim to provide a run-around session that children will enjoy, and will want to come back week after week.

Classes are broken down into three areas
